Charles Dixon Sr.

Brother Charles A, Dixon, Sr. was born February 12, 1932 in Calvert, Texas to Freemond and Willis Dixon. He was born the sixth child of nine, He accepted Christ at an early age. He attended and graduated from Calvert Colored High. After which he volunteered to serve his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1953. After retiring home he met and married his beloved wife, Dorothy Watson Dixon of 62 years. they had one son, Charles A. Dixon, Jr. He was dedicated to his job for many years. He retired from Philips Petroleum in 1994.

He fathered a son prior to his marriage, Charles Edwards Schells who preceded him in death. Other family members who preceded him in death are his mother and father, Willis Dixon, Jr., Nellyne Johnson, Roy Mac Dixon and Jewel Knight.

His legacy is left to be cherished by his devoted wife, Dorothy; his son Charles A. Dixon, Jr. (Yolanda) and his daughter-in-law, Victoria Schells; his grandchildren, Charles A. Dixon, III (Sophelia), Lesha Roshea Wade, Ch'Lon Willis Dixon, Royce Francisco, Kendrick Francisco, Wayland Hickman (Shelena), Yulanda Schells, Charles E. Schools, Jr. "Head" (Sha) and Helen Schells; two bothers, Sammmie Dixon and Cecil Dixon, and two sisters, Gladys Carter and Jimester Britton. His legacy will also be cherished by 21 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. In addition, Charles leaves behind many other family and friends to cherish and remember his prolific wisdom.
